English Tutoring For Adults

English Tutoring For AdultsEnglish tutoring for adults is very important because this is a skill that people all over the world need to master. Even children need to learn how to read and write. Unfortunately, most adults in America and the UK are not aware of how to improve their reading and writing skills, and this means that they will not be able to get ahead in life.English is one of the most important languages that people learn. It can mean a lot to you if you want to get a job or go to college. You will be able to find better jobs if you speak English and you will have the advantage of a good education. There are lots of programs available that can help you learn the language, so look for the one that will work best for you.English tutoring for adults should be done by someone who is knowledgeable about how the language works. For example, a tutor can help you learn how to spell the words, but if they are not familiar with the grammar and spelling rules, then they will not be able to teach you any of this. This means that you will only be wasting your time and money on a tutor that is not good at what they do.For beginners, online tutors can help you learn the basics. However, they can help you out with vocabulary, but not with grammar and writing. If you want to go to an English tutoring class, then you should take a teacher along with you, so that you will not waste your time or be embarrassed when you come to class.Online tutors should also have a live chat session where you can ask questions, as well as post messages to the students. This way, you will be able to communicate with them in a friendly way. If you are still unsure about the English language, then you can take a tutor with you to the classes so that you can learn at your own pace. Remember that you will be able to improve yourself more when you are learning with a tutor. In addition to tutoring, you can also find opportunities to speak to native English speakers. People who speak English f luently often use their skills for various purposes. This means that they can help you get a job, or can give you some tips on how to deal with a customer. This will help you get a better job and higher pay.Do not wait until you are facing a language problem before you start to improve your English. The sooner you start, the better. Even if you do not have money to hire a tutor, there are plenty of other things that you can do to improve your language skills.

Why is English Pronunciation so Difficult

Why is English Pronunciation so Difficult Why is English pronunciation so difficult? One of the most confusing things about English is pronunciation. English has a total of 17tk spoken vowel sounds. This makes English  unusual, as most languages have 5-6. Spanish, for instance, has 5 vowel sounds, Mandarin 6, and Portuguese 9.English Pronunciation GuideAnother odd thing is that we  only use 5 letters  a,e,i,o and u to write all 17 sounds. Other languages, like Spanish or French, have 5 written vowels and 5 sounds. But what really makes English pronunciation difficult  is when your native language does not contain one of our vowel sounds. If youre language is like most, you have fewer vowel sounds than English has, which means there are going to be several sounds that youre going to have to learn how to make, but hear as well.A few years ago I did a language exchange with an Argentine friend. Wed speak for 45 minutes in English, then 45 in Spanish. At one point we started talking about pronunciation, and I explained that boo t and foot should have completely different sounds. My friend could not hear the difference between these two sounds, even when I said them one after the other. To an English speaker, there is a very clear difference. How do you learn how to produce a sound that you cant hear? Practice. Youll want to listen to how the sounds are made repeatedly, and get help making them. One of the most important parts of practicing English pronunciation is  learning  what you need to do  emphysically/em to make the sound. Learning exactly where your tongue and lips should be, and how wide open your mouth should be, can help produce that moment in which you suddenly find yourself making a sound you never knew existed. Its an exciting moment in learning!

The best things about teaching in Qatar (With job postings)

The best things about teaching in Qatar (With job postings) While we’ve helped place thousands of incredible teachers all across the Middle East over the last decade, we thought we’d give a special shout-out to Qatar on the blog today. In the past, Qatar has been somewhat overlooked by teachers keen to teach in other countries in the Middle East, such as the UAE and Kuwait. However, in recent years, Qatar has been busy playing catch up with its neighboring countries as a hugely popular teaching destination for qualified, experienced teachers the world over. Given the fact that Qatar has less strict visa eligibility restrictions than the UAE, it’s hardly a surprise that over 500 expats now choose to move to Qatar on a daily basis. So what’s life really like for teachers working in Qatar, the world’s richest country? Well, we regularly get feedback from teachers we’ve placed in the region. The consensus is that teaching in Qatar is an unmissable chance to work abroad, earn a lot of money, travel, develop their teaching skills, gain life experience and meet new people. Sign up to Teach Away today for access to the latest teaching jobs around the world. Sound good to you? Check out our latest teaching job openings in Qatar with the Qatar Foundation and American International School. Be sure to get your application in quickly, though, as interviews are happening right now! If you’re not sold on Qatar as the right teaching destination for you just yet, keep reading to find out more about why you might want to reconsider: 1. You’ll make bank There are plenty of opportunities to make and save a ton of money when teaching in Qatar. Most teachers are drawn to the lucrative pay packages offered by Qatar schools and programs, like the Qatar Foundation. Although the cost of living, especially imported foods, has been driven up over the last number of years, it’s still more than possible to live a comfortable lifestyle in Qatar, especially if you have the benefits and tax-free salary afforded to international teachers. The perks are pretty stellar. There’s often no utility bills to pay and accommodation is provided free for successful teaching candidates. Combined with the round-trip airfare, teaching in Qatar is a golden opportunity to save money for the future. Want to find out your earning potential teaching anywhere in the world? Get a decent idea of what you can expect with the help of our free teach abroad salary calculator! 2. You’ll gain valuable life experience As a hub for global business, Qatar has a diverse expat community. Teaching in Qatar is a great chance to get to know people from different backgrounds and from all walks of life. You’ll also be dealing with colleagues and children from all around the world on a daily basis - people that you will learn from and that will, in turn, learn from you. Not only will teaching in Qatar help you widen your perspective on how different cultures see the world, you’ll also learn how to build better relationships and (hopefully!) turn strangers into lifelong friends. 3. You’ll grow as a teacher Qatar has heavily invested in building a world-class education system that rivals top-ranking countries worldwide. To that end, the Qatar Foundation places a big emphasis on teachers’ continuing professional development, making Qatar a great place to truly hone your skills, knowledge and expertise as an educator, no matter your current experience level. What’s more, you’ll be working with students and parents whose first language isn’t English. This is a great way to improve your communication and cultural competence and grow as an educator. The skills you’ll gain teaching in Qatar will be an asset to you as you progress in your teaching career, whether internationally or back home. 4. The travel potential is huge And last - but by no means least - the travel opportunities in Qatar are pretty much endless. Travel around the region is easily done - The Middle East is a vast and fascinating region composed of so many rich cultures. Weekend trips to Dubai, for example, are only a short flight away. And even if you prefer to stay put and explore your new home country, you’ll get to enjoy year-round warm climate, blue skies and sunshine. Tax-free shopping, lots of restaurants, museums and outdoor activities in the desert and beaches of Qatar means you’ll never be short of entertainment options. If you’re a culture buff, you might already know that Qatar is home to a thriving art scene. Qatar’s attitude towards alcohol is also pretty relaxed, especially when compared to its neighbors in the region. Because gas also happens to be cheap in the region, running a car will likely be more affordable than in your home country. This means you have the freedom to get out to the desert for some dune bashing and camping whenever you want! Have more questions? 5 Key Questions to Consider Before You Learn a New Language

5 Key Questions to Consider Before You Learn a New Language 5 Key Questions to Consider Before You Learn a New Language Asking questions is essential in daily life. You ask questions in school to learn more about a subject. You ask questions at restaurants to decide what you want to order. You ask questions at parties to distract people as you dump all the snacks into your bag.So if youre asking questions everywhere else, why would you ask questions before you learn a new language? When learning a language, there are just so many options. For instance, when selecting a second language you might choose between easy second languages for English speakers  or you might consider what language will help you score a language-related job. When you select your learning method, you might try to find ways to  speed up the learning process. But how do you decide what to learn and how to learn it? Ask yourself these five simple questions to point your education in the right direction! Why Plan Ahead Before You Learn a New Language? One of the main reasons to plan ahead before you learn a new language is to ensure you select the right language. Choosing a language that wont help you achieve your goals could take valuable time away from studying a language that would better suit you. While learning any language is valuable, learning the right one is invaluable. Common languages  are particularly popular, but not every language is right for every person.Plus, planning ahead will help ensure you select the right approach. The right approach can make a difference between you enjoying your language study and suffering through it, so its essential to choose the right approach for you. Finally, planning ahead will help you save time during the learning process. Otherwise, you might need to pause to consider what you need to do next in your language study, or you might lose motivation altogether and quit.5 Key Questions to Consider Before You Learn a New Language1. Why do I want to learn a language? It may seem like a simple question, but its important to consider your own motivation.Motivation is an impor tant factor in language learning because it can be the difference between learning and loving a language for the rest of your life, or quitting after you learn just a couple phrases. There are several factors that might motivate you. For instance, you might be interested in learning a language for international travel, career development or just expanding your knowledge of the world. Another motivator might be your schools language education requirements. However, if your main motivation for learning a language is that its required, finding a motivation deeper within yourself will better propel you towards success.Considering your motivation is also important for language selection. After all, if you want to learn a language to vacation along the Mediterranean coast, Chinese definitely wont fit the bill. Similarly, if you want to learn a language in order to increase your employability, widely spoken languages like Chinese will serve your purposes much better than less common languag es like Basque.2. What language do I want to learn?Once youve considered why you want to learn a language, youre ready to consider what language you want to learn. When considering this life-changing question, its important to take your motivating factors into account. What do you want to do with the language youre learning? If youre looking to learn a language to increase your employability, one of the best ways to answer this question is to look at job ads related to the sorts of positions youre interested in. What language skills are necessary? If youre looking to learn a language for travel, selecting a language is a little easier. Simply think about what cultures intrigue you and what places youd most like to visit. Then, research what languages are most commonly spoken in that area.3. How quickly do I want to learn the language?Setting your timeline is important since it can influence your methods and daily time commitment.People learn languages at a wide variety of speeds. Some people want to learn a language quickly, whether it be for an upcoming trip or just instant gratification. Learning a language quickly usually requires a greater daily time commitment and immersive study. Immersive study involves immersing yourself in the language by using it often. If you have a longer time frame, though, you can also learn a language by studying it for just a few minutes a day.Its also important to note that some languages are harder for English speakers to learn and usually require a longer time commitment to master. For instance, you can probably learn Spanish much faster than Arabic, so this is important to take into account when setting your timeline.Setting ambitious goals for your speed will help keep you pushing forward, but setting your goals too high can make you feel like a constant failure. So always try to set moderately ambitious objectives, like learning common phrases in the first month and becoming conversational in the first three to six months.4. How much time am I prepared to commit? The question of how much time you are prepared to commit is inextricably linked to how quickly you want to learn a language.Obviously, if you can only study for a couple minutes a day, youll not learn a language as quickly as if you were fully immersed in a language.Because of the link between speed and time commitment, you might also find that your answers to these two questions are incongruous and you must find a compromise. If you answer that you want to learn a language quickly but are only prepared to spend two minutes a day, its time to prioritize your speed goals or time commitment. Which is the most important to you?Considering how much time youre prepared to commit is also valuable in selecting your learning method, since some are designed for very brief or more extensive study periods.5. What learning method is best for me?Building on all your answers up to this point, its time to consider what learning method is best for you. There ar e a wide variety of methods available to learn a language.Immersion is a common option that involves immersing yourself in the language by hearing, reading and speaking it as much as possible. This usually involves a greater daily commitment, but it can also help you learn a language more quickly. Immersion works particularly well if you can spend some time living in an area that speaks your target language.Another option is language courses. These often involve a set time commitment each week, homework assignments, quizzes and all the other fun stuff youd expect from courses. Theyll teach you the foundations upon which a language is built, but they can also be less flexible.Other options include apps and software. These programs usually focus on teaching you a language with interactive, multimedia elements. They also offer a flexible time commitmentâ€"some are designed to be used for just a few minutes a day.Audio programs are a strong option for commuters since you can cram some l earning into time that would otherwise be wasted.Textbooks are also a popular learning method since they offer clear explanations of a languages rules. For anyone who likes to have a firm grasp on how each conjugation works or what possible meanings a given word could have, textbooks are a strong companion. When selecting your learning method, its also important to find something you enjoy doing. After all, if you hate cracking a textbook, chances are you wont study as often using this last method as you otherwise would. The only way to determine what methods you like is to try a few out. Then, feel free to mix and match your favorites to maximize your learning! Before you dive into learning a new language, consider these questions. They just might give you the answers youre looking for.
